Materials for pharmaceutical blister packaging must be non-toxic and odourless, free from perforations, damage, tears, creases, or localised variations in thickness. Under specified conditions, the material must exhibit no extractables and satisfy fundamental chemical requirements, namely resistance to ageing. Acceptable levels of cleanliness, particulate contamination, and linting must meet established standards. When forming a seal with another specified material, the stipulated minimum seal strength must be verified.
